End of Season Information

One more time, thanks for a memorable season!  You girls are so fun and so awesome - thank you!  Here are a few items that we need to take care of, that I am sure you are wondering about:

UNIFORM COLLECTION:  I will collect uniforms on Monday, 11/28, after school, near the back foyer where we meet for indoor practices.  Even if you have a different winter sport please stop by for just about 2 minutes - please and thank you!

EXIT SURVEY:  Follow THIS LINK to access the exit survey for this fall.  These surveys do so much for me to help keep track of what is going well and what we need to adapt moving forward.  Your time and honesty are greatly appreciated!

WINTER TRACK:  Day One for the whole team is Monday, 11/28.  Distance Squad will just have a meeting that day.  NO RUNNING until Monday, 12/5. Please take the 2 weeks to regroup, get away from running, and do things that you never have time to do and get extra rest!  Your legs and your brain need it!!!

JV End of Season Info

Thanks for so much effort and dedication so far this season!  While your competitive season has concluded, the team needs you to stay connected and support those who still have races remaining. It is the relationships amongst the team that matter most and your support to your teammates is so important to their success - as you all know from getting supported in your own races!  That said, here is a schedule the weeks ahead…

JV WHO WILL DO WINTER TRACK & FIELD
  • Attend and train at practice this Friday (tomorrow), and next week on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
  • Make every effort to attend the Saturday meets that remain.

JV WHO WILL DO OTHER SPORTS THIS WINTER
  • Attend your practices for the winter sport during the week.
  • Make every effort to attend the Saturday meets that remain.

ALL:  MAKE SURE YOU GET YOUR BANQUET RSVPs RETURNED.

Lead from the Inside

Do you see life as a series of "storms" that make you feel like a pinball getting knocked around?

Or do you naturally lead from the inside?

As I shared with you at practice yesterday, one of these two outlooks is very likely your "default setting" for how you approach things. Either you're the pinball, just trying to get through the day, and spiraling downward, or you're leading from your core values, enjoying each day and each moment, and spiraling upward.  As we begin a new school year, I encourage you all to re-think your importances and consider your own approach.  We cannot avoid the "storms" in life, but we can think about them differently - we can see them as challenges to be embraced, as opportunities to grow.

What is truly most important in your life?  Do your actions and behaviors (and the way you spend your time and money) reflect those importances?

Preseason Inventory

By my estimation we have had a very nice block of summer training - your commitment has been evidenced through your attendance and your effort.  Thank you!  It's also been great getting to know our newest runners and watching as our older runners have matured and evolved.

Our relationships with each other mean so much; they are the keys to the engine of our success - simply, without strong relationships the team will sputter competitively and the fun will slip away, too.  With that in mind, I am asking you each to complete the survey linked below that applies to your status with the team.  In the past, these surveys have been a very useful tool for me to get to know each of you better and help support you better.  Please be as honest as you can - I am interested in what you think, not what you think I want to hear (-:
